Awards Dinner Awards Part 2 All year the Cadets work hard through discipline, Navy training, drill, citizenship and all that comes with the Cadet program. At the end of the year, we recognize their hard work and effort with our Annual Cadet Awards dinner. |
| April 2011 | Screw-Up Night
A bit of silly diversion from the hard work of drilling, marching, and class work. Each division had to come up with a dress-up theme. |
| March 2011 | Division Inspection
The Division Inspection is the second of three marked inspections throughout the training year, where cadets are graded on dress and deportment, drill, and class work. Officers are also graded on dress and deportment, and performance. The various departments (such as stores and administration) are marked on presentation and record-keeping. The inspection is conducted by officers from NLC Division. |
| January 2011 | 2011 Guard & Band Camp
Guard & Band Camp is one of the most anticipated and enjoyed events of the year. During this sleep-away weekend, cadets in the guard division (Protecteur) and band division (Tecumseh) are taught advanced concepts. The camp is hosted by one corps and all other Alberta corps are invited. This year, NLCC Captain Jackson played host to nearly 100 cadets and 20 officers. The camp ends with a huge guard and band parade. Have you ever seen 7 bass drums in one formation? |
| September 2010 | Branch Inspection
The Branch Inspection is the first of three marked inspections throughout the training year, where cadets are graded on dress and deportment, drill, and class work. Officers are also graded on dress and deportment, and performance. The various departments (such as stores and administration) are marked on presentation and record-keeping. The inspection is conducted by members of Calgary Branch NLC. |

| June-August 2010 | Sailing on Glenmore Reservoir |
| June 2010 | Fleet Days (Camp Gardner) |
| May 2010 | Annual Inspection
The Annual Inspection is perhaps the most important event for cadets, after the Battle of the Atlantic and Remembrance Day.
It's certainly all-important in terms of national standing. Marks are based on the cadets, the officers, administration, training, and stores departments. The corps is marked on overall attendance, drill, uniforms, community involvement, extra-curricular activities, and, of course, paperwork. The marks are then sent to Division (Edmonton) and then on to National (Ottawa) where they are used to determine the best corps in the province and the country. The Annual Inspection is generally our last parade. This inspection is a time when the cadets show off what they have spent their training year learning and includes displays of the classes. Family and friends are encouraged to stay and share in the day. |

Camp Evergreen
Camp Evergreen is our cadets' yearly autumn outing where activities include horseback riding, archery, air rifle range, canoeing, wall climbing, games, friendship and socializing, and much more. Through all the fun activities, cadets learn about leadership, cooperation, team spirit, and physical fitness. Cadets leave Friday evening and return Sunday afternoon, exhausted but overjoyed. Lodging is included (separate boys and girls dormitories) and there's food a'plenty! Cadets are supervised at all times by officers or screened parent volunteers, providing a safe and secure environment. |

Edgewater Fortune
This trip saw Captain Jackson cadets sailing on the Edgewater Fortune around British Columbia's Channel Islands. The Edgewater Fortune is a declassed demining ship, run by an experienced crew. Cadets were also expected to participate in some tasks on the ship. |
